How to Build a Tribe Page

blogging allianceOn the first day of the New Year my tribe gave to me… a really cool tribe page. Sing with me now… ok maybe not.

Welcome to Day 1 of the 12 tribal days of the New Year.

Just like the 12 Days of Christmas, the 12 tribal days of the New Year will start January 1 and have the date’s number as the set of item numbers in the blog post. So naturally we have to start at the beginning. Trust me this will be fun.

The theme around these 12 tribal days is all about Tribe Syndication, but you probably already figured that out.

Before we get to the ‘how’ of it all we need to cover the ‘what.’ What is a Tribe page anyway? Good question and I’m glad you asked. The tribe page is one of my favorite pages as it’s the section where I can promote other people in my tribe or blogging alliance. These people I look up to as trainers, team members, people who I want to associate with.

Please enable Javascript and Flash to view this Viddler video.

As you can see from the video the benefits of a tribe page with the pretty link plug in is; traceability, visual promotion and mutual benefit. As my blog grows in traffic so does all the clicks through my tribe member’s pages.

Now get out there and make your own tribe page. Leave a link as I would love to check out your kick butt Tribe page. Also leave a comment for the community and share other ways we can promote each other.

Here’s a few examples of some great tribe pages.

Jon Alfredsson

Michael Feil

Kary Rogney

Nick Logan

Ken Pickard

The Network Dad

You can also share with your Twitter and Facebook friends. This just may be what they’re looking for. As always I appreciate your Diggs and Stumbles.

    Hey Ken,

Thanks so much for giving such a thorough explanation, this is going to be a wonderful tutorial for a lot of people. Juss has already started work on ours and it’s going to be a lot of fun showcasing some wonderful people in the future.

One of the benefits I’ve experienced in sharing other people’s content and value is the amount I’ve been able to learn personally. When you go it alone, you’re more focused on yourself, but when you get involved in a community you can’t help but be exposed to a heap of great material. The benefits seem endless.

Keep up the great work Ken!

    Lynn.

      Lynn,

Thank you for you comments. You are right on. Working with a group of like minded people… your tribe, is much easier than going it alone. The community, support, accountability, sharing of ideas, is far more helpful than doing it all and learning it all yourself.

      Welcome to the tribe.

I have never seen anything like this before. The power of the tribe is unquestionably the most powerful concept since “The mastermind alliance”… (Napoleon Hill “Think and Grow Rich”)

Solid practical advice for building our Tribe pages! This kind of value is why you are absolutely excelling in the business!

Rather than mess with Jing, most of the time you can right click on the header image (you may have to mess around until you find an edge that isnt linked anywhere) and you fill find a “View Image” or “View Background Image” … that will open it by itself and then you can right click it and “Save As” … or go File -> Save Page As … to save the image. Only in cases that the whole image a link laying over it will you need to use another utility. Hope it helps!

This was a real eye-opener. I’m glad blogs are fluid because mine is about to morph again. It’s on my short list to do … ASAP. What a powerful way to make noise, and offer True Value – not the hardware stuff :) – to my visitors and friends. I AM ON IT! thanks Ken

Thanks for the valuable information and walk-through. I’ll hopefully be able to set this up sometime in the future once I become more established with all of these tribes I’m being bombarded with (hehe). It’s like once you open up the door to one they all start flooding in! I’d like to be a member of yours. Well, Have a good sunday and don’t forget to get some rest. (I should be telling that to myself, hehe)
